Aim-listed Katoro Gold has appointed Patrick Cullen as interim CEO, to guide development of the Haneti nickel and gold project, in Tanzania.

He succeeds Louis Coetzee who stepped down from the position. Coetzee will continue advising the company on an external consultant basis.

Katoro holds 65% of the Haneti project, with joint venture partner Power Metal Resources holding the balance.

Cullen has extensive geological, geophysical and mining experience gained while working in the junior resource exploration and major mining sectors.  This includes board and senior managerial experience at Aim-, TSX- and ASX-listed junior explorers.

He has worked across a variety of commodities including gold, uranium, copper, zinc, phosphate and platinum group metals, in regions such as North America, Europe and Southern Africa.

Since the company's financing announced in February, work has been undertaken to advance existing interests including the Haneti project, where a detailed technical review is under way.

The company has also been working on a review of new project opportunities, which Cullen will also help to progress.
