ASX-listed Sierra Rutile has announced the completion of its initial safety risk review of Area 1, leading to the resumption of operations at the Sierra Leone mine after a temporary suspension.

The company suspended mining at a part of Area 1 two weeks ago, following the death of a worker.

In a statement on Monday, Sierra Rutile confirmed that it had put in place initial immediate modifications to operating procedures eliminating any potential risks associated with the incident. These measures were designed to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents in future.

A full investigation remained ongoing.
