JSE-listed aluminium producer Hulamin expects to report a loss a share of between 43c and 53c for the year ended December 31, 2025, compared with earnings a share of 93c reported for 2024, as the business experienced operational challenges associated with stabilising mill performance.

These challenges adversely affected rolled product volumes and resulted in losses owing to quality defects.

The strengthening of the rand against the dollar during the period further impacted financial performance.

Hulamin further expects to report a headline loss a share of between 26c and 32c, compared with headline earnings of 77c in 2024.

Its normalised headline loss a share from continuing operations is expected to be between 25c and 31c, compared with headline earnings of 55c in 2024.

Hulamin operates through its Rolled Products and Extrusions divisions, with manufacturing facilities in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, and Midrand, Gauteng.

The company expects to release its results for the period on March 23.
