Company launches butterfly valve for mining applications
Mechanical pipe-joining systems manu-facturer Victaulic has expanded its range of Vic-300 MasterSeal butterfly valves to include a new shouldered model specifically designed for mining applications.
“The shouldered SC761 MasterSeal butterfly valve is designed specifically for mining applications and is built for use in demanding working environments, says Victaulic South Africa regional manager Barry van Jaarsveld.
Made from ductile iron conforming to ASTM A-536 standards, which is the international standard specification for ductile iron castings, the SC761 MasterSeal butterfly valve is designed for bidirectional, dead-end services to full working pressure and is rated to 2 068 kPa.
Seats are available in Grade E ethylene propylene diene monomer for water services, in Grade T lubricated nitrile for oil, air and gas services, or in Grade O fluoro-elastomer for some chemical services.
Further, the SC761 MasterSeal butter-fly valve is now available in sizes ranging from 50 mm to 200 mm. It is compatible with the Victaulic shouldered SC77 coupling and shouldered fitting line and offers a range of manual actuators.
Ten-position and infinitely variable handles are available with memory stop and include an option for a padlock. A standard Inter-national Organisation for Standardisation mounting flange allows for acceptance of powered actuators.
The SC761 also features a patented seat design to ensure full 360° sealing. The pressure-enhanced seat compresses to create a larger seating area as the pressure increases and the design also contributes to the valve’s low breakaway torque capabilities.
The valve is also equipped with blowoutproof stainless steel stems and offers optional stem seals.
