About the Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards
The Africa Supply Chain Excellence Awards honour organisations that excel in the complex and dynamic field of supply chain management. These organisations have a unique perspective on what keeps the world moving, demonstrating that managing a supply chain is far more than merely moving goods. It’s about ensuring success and relevance in today’s volatile world.
A Showcase of Supply Chain Coordination and Collaboration
Innovation and collaboration are at the heart of Beapo’s success, which is why we have been nominated in the Supply Chain Coordination and Collaboration category. A recent example of this is our collaboration with Scania to overcome a global shortage that threatened our client’s operations.
Imagine a typical day commencing with a critical email request for engines vital to a client's operations. However, a global shortage suddenly disrupts the supply chain, posing a threat to both their productivity and the broader economy. Understanding the urgency, our team quickly sought solutions. We reached out to our supplier, Scania, and together we formulated a way to meet our client's needs without compromising on quality.
Our collaboration with OEM Scania marked a significant turning point. We explored customising a distinct series of Scania engines, opting for a unique yet expedited and tailored solution. By combining Scania's expertise with our innovative methods, we began the project.
Both Scania and our clients' engineering teams modified the engine specifications without sacrificing performance. The engines were taken through rigorous testing, which was both nerve-wracking and exciting for the team. The results went beyond our initial expectations, surpassing the original specifications.
Our main takeaway: through adopting a collaborative problem-solving approach, we turned a crisis into a success story for our client. This exemplifies our commitment to supply chain coordination and collaboration, reinforcing our position as leaders in the industry.
