Solutions for sustainable water management

Astore Keymak product range for sustainable water management

A range of dragline, garden hose and plastic valve boxes suitable for applications in the agricultural, irrigation, mining and residential sectors is now available to meet a growing demand for irrigation equipment and hose systems.

Manufacturer and supplier of thermoplastic products, Astore Keymak, recently announced the addition of its dragline and garden hose range to its product line, aimed specifically at countering water loss issues in the irrigation, mining and agriculture industries. With working pressures of 600 Kpa and 700 Kpa respectively, these dragline and garden hose solutions are designed to deliver environmental and performance benefits by ensuring more sustainable water management.

The polyvinyl chloride (PVC) hoses are said to be robust, flexible and easy-to-handle and incorporate features designed to boost reliability and extend service life, such as:

Astore Keymak says its dragline hoses offer a five-year or 10-year design life option and are available in 12.5 mm to 25 mm diameter in standard coil lengths of 30 m, 50 m and 100 m. The garden hoses have a six-year design life and are available in 12 mm to 20 mm diameter in standard coil lengths of 15 m and 30 m. All hoses are compatible with existing hose fittings on the market and can be specially embossed to suit customers’ requirements, based on minimum order quantities.

The company now supplies a complete range of plastic valve boxes that can accommodate all start components of an irrigation system. “The addition of these valve boxes aligns with our strategy of being a single source supplier to meet the requirements of the various market sectors,” says Astore Keymak MD Shenton Botes.

Available in round and rectangular designs, the valve boxes are supplied with a cover to help prevent the ingress of dirt, debris and pests into irrigation systems when placed underground. The risk of clogs and blockages which can potentially damage the valves is also reduced. Manufactured by Italian company Irritec, the valves boxes are designed to be lightweight, and easy to install and access. The green lid is designed to blend with surrounding vegetation, for an aesthetic finish.
