The South African National Energy Association (Sanea) has appointed Xolile Msimanga as its new secretary-general, succeeding Wendy Poulton, who stepped down from the role, but remains on the board for another term of office.

In a media release, the association says Msimanga brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to Sanea.

“With a distinguished career in the energy sector, Xolile has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a commitment to sustainable energy solutions,” says Sanea.

The association notes that Msimanga has been an active board member and has volunteered her time to support Sanea in this role.

The association also describes Poulton as having been an integral part of Sanea for many years, dedicating her time, expertise and “unwavering commitment” to the organisation.

“It is with pleasure and gratitude that I take on the role of secretary-general at Sanea. I look forward to continuing serving Sanea members on the board with my fellow directors. I'd like to thank Wendy for her stellar contribution over her time in this position and for her continued support as I take on this role,” says Msimanga.

“I have been honoured to serve Sanea as secretary-general for the past few years and would like to thank everyone for all the support, and I will continue to support Xolile and the board in future,” Poulton expresses.
