Following its merger with Silver Lake, ASX-listed Red 5 on Wednesday implemented key changes to the executive leadership team and its board.

Mining engineer Luke Tonkin, previously MD and CEO of Silver Lake, has been appointed new MD and CEO of Red 5.

He will be supported by Red 5’s existing COO, Richard Hay.

Struan Richards, previously CFO of Silver Lake, has been appointed CFO. He was most recently CFO of Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia, before joining Silver Lake in 2023.

David Berg, previously general counsel and secretary of Silver Lake, has taken up the same position at Red 5.  So did Len Eldridge, previously Silver Lake’s corporate development officer, and Phillip Stevenson, previously group development geologist.

Russell Clark will continue as Red 5’s nonexecutive chairperson, with the remainder of the board comprising Tonkin, existing director Andrea Sutton, Peter Johnston and Ian Macpherson. Previous nonexecutive directors of Silver Lake, Rebecca Prain, David Quinlivan and Kelvin Flynn, have joined the Red 5 board.

As previously announced, long-serving Red 5 MD Mark Williams ceased to hold office from Wednesday after more than a decade in the role. David Coyne also ended his role as CFO and joint company secretary, while Mathew Collings ended his role as manager of corporate development and Byron Dumpleton as chief geologist.

“Under the leadership of Luke Tonkin as managing director and CEO, supported by a high-calibre executive leadership team, I am confident we have the team in place to oversee the next chapter of the company’s growth,” said Clark.
