ASX-listed Many Peaks Minerals has started a 6 500 m diamond and auger drilling campaign on the Odienné project, in Côte d’Ivoire.

One thousand metres of diamond drilling is planned for five holes on 400-m-spaced lines to follow up open gold mineralisation that was highlighted in a preliminary air core programme completed late last year.

In turn, 4 000 m of auger drilling is planned across three priority gold-in-soil anomalies over 20 km.

Another 1 500 m bout of auger drilling will follow-up test some surface gold-in-soil anomalies on a 6-km-long structure that is 11 km north-east of previous drilling.

The drilling forms part of a right to acquire an 85% interest in four mineral permits in the country totalling 1 275 km2, which Many Peaks acquired from Turaco Gold and Predictive Discover’s joint venture.

Previous work, combined with Many Peaks’ current drilling and geochemical work, positions the company to advance an aggressive exploration campaign at Odienné in the coming months.

The company also plans to start drilling on the highly prospective Ferké project in the second half of the year.
