Management consulting company Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has appointed Jacqueline Foster-Mutungu MD and partner in its Johannesburg office.

The company says Foster-Mutungu, who has been with BCG for nearly a decade, will play a key role in the financial institutions and people and organisational practices.

In her new role, she will continue to work with financial institutions across Africa, focusing on strategic growth, turnaround objectives, organisational design, culture and leadership development.

Before joining BCG, she worked in the consumer food industry, managing brands in the US, South Africa and Zambia, and in investment banking in the US and the UK.

She holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BSc in Economics from Duke University.

"I am very excited to take on this important leadership role and to continue to build BCG's business in South Africa. The support I've received from day one has been invaluable and I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of financial institutions in the region,” says Foster-Mutungu.

“Jackie joined the BCG Johannesburg office in 2014, shortly after it opened. She is part of the fabric of our Johannesburg office. Her appointment to MD and partner not only expands our local team with critical expertise but really underpins the story of our growth as an office, led by the incredible people in our teams.

“We are delighted to welcome Jackie to the leadership team,” says MD, senior partner and office leader at BCG Johannesburg Jan Gildemeister.

BCG has also announced additional appointments in the region. Aly-Khan Jamal has been appointed MD and partner in Lagos, Nigeria, and Nabil Mikou and Badr Choufari MDs and partners in Casablanca, Morocco.
