Project Description
Vale and Hydnum Steel signed a memorandum of understanding in February 2024 to develop low-carbon solutions for steelmaking.

A feasibility study is being undertaken to evaluate the feasibility of building an iron-ore briquette plant in Hydnum Steel’s flagship project for green steel.

The plant will begin producing 1.5-million tons of rolled steel in 2026, and it is projected to have a capacity of 2.6-million tons a year starting from 2030. It will be built using next-generation technology designed to replace the use of fossil fuels with green hydrogen, thereby contributing to the decarbonisation of the sector.
