172.06 ct Type II white diamond
London-listed diamond producer Gem Diamonds recovered a 172.06 ct Type II white diamond at its Letšeng mine, in Lesotho, on June 2.
This is the seventh diamond greater than 100 ct recovered at the mine this year.
The latest recovery follows the recovery of a 212.49 ct in late May.
Gem owns 70% of the Letšeng mine, which is the highest average dollar per carat kimberlite diamond mine in the world.
