Project Description
Cruachan is one of just four pumped-storage hydrofacilities in the UK, playing a critical role in the country’s energy security. The project will result in increased generating capacity of two of the plant’s four units by a combined 40 MW to raise the facility’s total generating capacity to 480 MWs.

Incorporating the latest technological innovations, it will also improve the plant’s operability and reliability and extend its life cycle.
