Canadian exploration company Clean Air Metals has appointed Lionnel Djon as its new VP of exploration, succeeding Geoff Heggie who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Djon has most recently led the exploration team at Impala Canada. Under his leadership, significant mineral resource increases have been made at the Lac des Iles mine through discoveries at depth and adjacent to the known deposit.

“We are very pleased to have Lionnel bring his unique platinum group metals (PGM) expertise to the Clean Air team,” commented CEO Jim Gallagher.

“His knowledge of north-western Ontario deposits and his track record of success in applying advanced techniques to identify and discover platinum, palladium, nickel, and copper deposits are very relevant to our company’s two strategic goals: continuing to expand the Thunder Bay North deposit and adding other complementary exploration assets to our portfolio.”

Clean Air confirmed in a statement that its leadership team was reviewing the potential for acquiring other PGM, copper and nickel assets in northern Ontario.

Meanwhile, the company promoted Kris Tuuttila to VP of sustainability and community relations from his current role as director.

Mia Boiridy also joined the company as director of communications and investor relations.
