Project Description
The project will increase the Cambridge facility’s footprint by 25% to 85 344 m2.
The expansion will allow for greater capacity to support ongoing and anticipated customer investments in small modular reactors, and traditional large-scale nuclear and advanced reactors, in Canada and worldwide.
Potential Job Creation
The project will create more than 200 new jobs in Ontario.
Capital Expenditure
The expansion is estimated at C$50-million. Additionally, over the next few years, BWXT will invest an estimated C$30-million in advanced manufacturing equipment for the facility.
Planned Start/End Date
Construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2024 and is estimated to be completed by mid-2026.
