Malawi’s Southern Region Water Board is inviting bids from eligible contractors for the construction of water supply schemes for the city of Zomba and the town of Mangochi.
The projects will be financed by the World Bank’s Inter-national Development Asso-ciation under the second phase of the multimillion-dollar National Water Development Programme.
“A single contract will be entered into with the successful bidder for the two schemes, and bidders are, therefore, requested to bid for both schemes. “Bidders who bid for a single scheme will have both bids rejected,” says the water board’s operations manager, Edward Mbesa.
Prospective bidders must have previously executed similar projects valued at at least $4- million.
Bidding documents are obtainable on payment of a nonrefundable fee of 30 00 Malawi kwacha (about $100).

The deadline for the submission of bids is August 17.
