Tanks provide sustainable wastewater management
Water tank supplier SBS Water Systems’ 3 301 kℓ ST31 tank is the best solution for wastewater and sanitation plants, owing to its high-quality standard and large capacity, says marketing manager James Preston.
“The innovative design of the ST31 tank allows for it to be easily transported and installed, especially in areas that are not easily accessible,” he adds.
Preston explains that the wall panels and roof sheets of all SBS tanks are made of Zincalume – a steel that is hot-dipped and coated with a molten alloy, comprising 55% aluminium, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicon, thus rendering the SBS tanks highly resistant to corrosion.
“All tanks are also fitted with an approved polyvinyl chloride liner that prevents water coming into contact with the wall panels. This liner is certified to international drinking water standards.”
He points out that using SBS tanks reduces labour costs, as well as the time and resources needed to complete installation. The company has worked with various local municipalities throughout the roll-out of community water supply schemes, providing residents with access to clean water and sanitation.
Last year, SBS Water Systems completed the installation of two of its largest 3 301 kℓ ST31 tanks at the Sembcorp Siza water treatment plant on the Dolphin Coast to treat wastewater for the Ballito community and surrounding areas of iLembe district municipality, in KwaZulu-Natal.
Preston notes that the tanks can last beyond 60 years, owing to their premium quality, adding that the company also offers a turnkey solution, with its project managers and technicians handling the installation of the tanks after purchase.
The ST31 tanks are also available in an Econo range, which is suitable for domestic use or smaller establishments, ranging in capacity from 7 kℓ to 253 kℓ, and the Standard range, ranging from 12 kℓ to the largest 3301 kℓ.
“We also offer the specialised Cyclonic range, with a capacity ranging from 7 kℓ to 253 kℓ. It is built to withstand extreme weather and works well in regions subjected to tropical storms, hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons,” he concludes.
