South African and global engineering firms were, earlier this month, given a glimpse of Germany-based tooling equipment manufacturer Behringer’s latest range of high-performance band saws and circular saws.

Electrical and automation equipment supplier Elquip Solutions, which is the local representative of Behringer and its associate companies, Behringer Vernet and Behringer Eisele, reports that the German companies hosted a product information event, in Kirchardt, Germany, from June 7 to 9.

“The presentations were outstanding and delegates were given the opportunity to discuss the products’ capabilities and applications with product specialists at the event,” says Elquip Solutions MD Mike Cronin.

The event showcased the product capabilities and intellectual property of the companies, as well as those of producer of surface finishing equipment, shot blasting machines, painting systems and preservation lines Rösler. This platform afforded steel manufac-turers and fabricators the opportunity to access turnkey solutions from a single event.

Cronin says conducting business with Behringer offers Elquip Solutions a growth opportunity, as the German company manufactures technologically advanced products and offers product efficiency to its clients.

“The manufacturer also emphasises the energy saving capability of its products and ensures that its range of band saws and other equipment is engineered to use the minimum energy required. “This is a significant factor, especially in South Africa, where energy use and reducing the carbon footprint are ongoing concerns,” he explains.

Further, the South African manufac-turing landscape has significant potential in the global market and companies need to capitalise on this by focusing on lean manufacturing processes. Behringer band saws and circular saws have a proven record as high-quality and accurate machines that save on tool and labour costs, as well as reducing scrap and increasing production and profitability, says Cronin.

Behringer’s products can be used in many industries, such as the automotive, mining, steel merchants, tube producers, tool- and-die makers, aeronautical and speciality metals industries.
