Following a distributorship agreement concluded earlier this year between pumps solutions provider Integrated Pump Technology and plant hire company Mitchell Equipment Hire, Botswana’s promising mining sector and infrastructural developments will gain easy access to reliable high performance dewatering pumps.

This partnership facilitates greater penetration of high quality Grindex submersible and Godwin diesel-driven pumps into Botswana’s growing market, and according to Integrated Pump Technology key accounts manager Neill Oosthuizen, there is also scope for Faggiolati pumps in the wastewater sector.

“The Grindex range of submersible dewatering, sludge and slurry pumps represent world-class quality and performance, and we know this brand is already well regarded in Botswana,” he says.

“Godwin diesel-driven dewatering pumps also make an important contribution to mining, including the unique challenge of dewatering in deeper mines, and offer reliable operation where electricity is not available or there is limited access to power.”

He says that the success of this relationship is based on Integrated Pump Technology’s strong service-oriented philosophy, aligning closely with Mitchell Equipment Hire’s established footprint and reputation in Botswana.

Mitchell Equipment Hire’s headquarters in Gaborone are supplemented by its strategically located branch network, with a solid presence in the mining areas of Letlhakane and Orapa, as well as a base in Botswana’s Copper Belt, where mining developments are expanding considerably.

Since its inception as the official distributor of Grindex pumps in 2014, Integrated Pump Technology has pursued a business model of establishing strategic competent distributor partnerships both in South Africa and across the border.

Currently, the company offers high levels of support in major mining areas across South Africa, as well as in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Oosthuizen highlights that Integrated Pump Technology prioritises the in-country status of its distributors, as local presence and proximity to customers is a vital consideration, and says the company expects a great future from the partnership, built on the regional and international reputation of pump ranges such as Grindex and Godwin.

“Central to our success is this dedication to building a skills-based distributor network, and this model ensures that each major mining area is supported by specialists capable of providing localised assistance,” he says.

Oosthuizen adds that Integrated Pump Technology’s strategy involves integrating technically trained sales representatives who understand the unique challenges and needs of their respective regions.

From its headquarters near OR Tambo International Airport in South Africa, Integrated Pump Technology extends advanced support, empowering distributors to offer comprehensive after- sales service, maintenance and technical support.

Oosthuizen explains that the company’s expertise extends beyond standard offerings with a dedicated engineering team capable of designing custom solutions to tackle complex dewatering challenges. “This flexibility and commitment to excellence have positioned the company as a leader in the dewatering pump sector, ready to support mines through performance efficiency improvements,” he concludes.
