Hardin Ratshisusu appointed acting commissioner of the National Consumer Commission

Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Ebrahim Patel has designated Hardin Ratshisusu as acting deputy commissioner and acting commissioner of the National Consumer Commission effective May 1.

He also serves as a deputy commissioner at the Competition Commission, a position he has held since 2016.

Ratshisusu has 20 years’ experience in competition regulation, with over ten years at the executive level.

He holds a BCom Economics (Honours) from the University of Venda, an MCom in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master of Business Leadership from the University of South Africa.

He has completed the Public Utility Research Centre/World Bank Training Programme on Utility Regulation and Strategy with the University of Florida, as well as the Senior Executive Programme for Africa with the Harvard Business School.

Ratshisusu also actively participates in international fora.
