Sappi

Sappi is a global diversified woodfibre group that produces dissolving pulp, paper pulp and paper-based solutions. The company is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, and operates production facilities across South Africa, Europe and North America. Sappi is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and has a significant presence in international markets. Its core products include coated fine paper, casting and release paper, speciality and packaging papers, graphic papers, dissolving wood pulp for textiles and pharmaceutical applications, and biomaterials. The company is one of the world's leading producers of dissolving pulp and coated fine paper. Sappi operates several mills in South Africa, including facilities that produce newsprint, packaging papers and pulp products. The group employs tens of thousands of people globally and generates annual revenue in the billions of rand. Major production sites include the Ngodwana Mill in Mpumalanga and other integrated pulp and paper mills. Sappi was established in 1936 as South African Pulp and Paper Industries and has grown through acquisitions and expansions to become a major player in the global pulp and paper industry.
