A new range of screwdrivers and feed- ing technology has entered the South African market.
Supplier of industrial products Dowson & Dobson Industrial has become the sole agent, in South Africa for Germany-based manufacturer of screwdriving technology Deprag.
Dowson & Dobson has opened a new division, Assembly Technology, dedicated solely to Deprag products, which is aimed at the higher end of the local assembly technologies market. This division will initially promote torque shut-off screwdrivers and screw-feeding technology.
“We aim to provide optimum levels of accuracy in screwdriving applications to new markets,” says Dowson & Dobson national business manager for assembly technology Herman Parsons.
The Deprag range of screwdrivers includes the Micromat and Minimat models, both of which are user-friendly, have long life spans and are specialised for repeated industrial use.
Screw feeders are designed for screws but can also be designed to feed bolts, set screws, pins, rivets, nuts, washers, O-rings and more.
The Deprag brand has two types of screw feeders. One is a vibratory bowl feeder, which generates a microwave movement that transports the screws and the other is a sword feeder that lifts and sorts screws and transports the screws by using gravity.
“Assembly technology involves all industries in which assembly takes place, such as electronic devices and automotive subsuppliers, and we look forward to a long, mutually rewarding partnership with Deprag,” says Parsons.
