In a drive to make its products more energy efficient, cleaning equipment manufacturer Numatic International reports that its range of NuSave vacuum cleaners will enable clients to save on electricity through the vacuum motors’ variable electricity use capability.
Numatic GM Dewald Botha says that the NuSave vacuum cleaners now have two switches, one to start the motor in the energy conservation mode, and a second to operate the vacuum motor at its full power capacity for heavy-duty applications. “Even at full power, we are still contributing savings of 400 W of energy by using only 800 W of the machine’s full 1 200-W capacity, as found in previous models,” Botha says.
“We are currently in the process of liaising with State-owned power utility Eskom to gain accreditation for our energy saving initiatives. By implementing green initiatives throughout our supply chain, as well as being ISO 14001 certified, the company is able to save its customers money, while reducing its impact on the environment,” he adds.
Further, Botha reports that Numatic has acquired distributorship for a range of cleaning products from international manufacturer 3M, which has helped to strengthen the company’s product range with its manufactured range of floor care products, such as matting and floor pads. Botha says that the products of the one company enhance those of the other to the benefit of customers.
The company has also introduced a number of new products to its range of industrial and commercial cleaning equipment. Botha says that a recent trend among the company’s clients is to move away from the traditional rope mop to embracing the use of flat mops, combined with microfibre technology for easy cleaning and improved efficiency.
The company has introduced its first ride-on floor scrubber, known as the Twintec Vario. Botha says that this is the first time that Numatic is offering a ride-on floor scrubber and reports that initial sales are promising.
The Twintec Vario has three adjustable working widths of 650 mm, 750 mm and 850 mm, which can adapt to any environment. The floor scrubber has an electronic memory into which predetermined operational requirements can be programmed to ease operation.
“There has been significant interest in the Twintec Vario from companies with large warehouses that need efficient cleaning, as well as from shopping centres. We supplied this machine for cleaning services at the Soccer City stadium, in Gauteng,” he says.
Numatic has also introduced a new range of vacuum cleaners, the ProVac, which incorporates a bucket system that provides a unique solution for vacuum and surface cleaning.
